Schizomycetes Nägeli 1857, classis.
Type order: not given.
Etymology: Gr. n. schiza, cleft, fission; Gr. n. mukês -êtos, mushroom or other fungus; N.L. masc. pl. n. Schizomycetes, the class of fission fungi.
