Type species: ¤ Parapusillimonas granuli Kim et al. 2010.
Etymology: Gr. prep. para, beside, alongside of, near, like; N.L. fem. n. Pusillimonas, bacterial genus name; N.L. fem. n. Parapusillimonas, a bacterium like Pusillimonas.
Valid publication: KIM (Y.J.), KIM (M.K.), IM (W.T.), SRINIVASAN (S.) and YANG (D.C.): Parapusillimonas granuli gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from granules from a wastewater-treatment bioreactor. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2010, 60, 1401-1406.

Parapusillimonas granuli Kim et al. 2010, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) Ch07 = KCTC 12668 = LMG 24012.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: DQ466075.
Etymology: L. gen. n. granuli, of a small grain, pertaining to a granule, from which the type strain was isolated.
