Etymology: N.L. n. natron, derived from the Arabic n. natrun or natron), soda; Gr. pref. an, not; Gr. n. aer, air; L. neut. n. baculum, small stick; N.L. neut. n. Natranaerobaculum, a soda-requiring anaerobic rod.
