Type species: ¤ Lawsonella clevelandensis Bell et al. 2016.
Etymology: N. L. fem. dim. ending -ella; N.L. fem. n. Lawsonella, named to honour Paul A. Lawson, a contemporary English microbiologist, currently at the University of Oklahoma, for his many contributions to microbial taxonomy and phylogeny.
