Laceyella Yoon et al. 2005, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Laceyella sacchari (Lacey 1971) Yoon et al. 2005.
Etymology: N.L. dim. fem. n. Laceyella, named to honour Dr. John Lacey, an English microbiologist, for his contribution to the taxonomy of the genus Thermoactinomyces and actinomycetes.

Etymology: L. fem. adj. putida, stinking, fetid.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. tengchongensis, of or pertaining to Tengchong county, Yunnan province, south-west China, where the type strain was collected.
