Type species: ¤ Hoppeia youngheungensis Kwon et al. 2014.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Hoppeia, of Hoppe, after the German microbiologist Hans-Georg Hoppe, for his contribution to the study of marine microbiology.

Hoppeia youngheungensis Kwon et al. 2014, sp. nov.
Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) YIK12=KCCM 43023=JCM 19488.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA) for the type strain: KF576216.
Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. youngheungensis, belonging to Youngheung Island, Korea, where the type strain was isolated.
