Type species: ¤ Heliophilum fasciatum Ormerod et al. 1996.

Etymology: Gr. n. helios, sun; N.L. adj. philus -a -um (from Gr. adj. philos -ê -on), friend, loving; N.L. neut. n. Heliophilum, sun lover.

Etymology: L. n. fascis, bundle; N.L. neut. adj. fasciatum, bundled, named for the fact that cells form into bundles that move as a unit.
