Type species: ¤ Halopeptonella vilamensis Menes et al. 2016.
Etymology: Gr. n. hals, halos, salt; N. L. n. eptonum, peptone; L. fem. dim. ending -ella; N. L. fem. n. Halopeptonella, a halophilic bacterium that grows solely with peptone.
