Etymology: L. adj. caldus, warm, hot; L. fem. n. virga, rod; N.L. fem. n. Caldivirga, a hot rod.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. maquilingensis, pertaining to Mount Maquiling, a volcano in the Phillippines.
