Etymology: L. n. aqua, water; L. masc. n. incola, inhabitant; N.L. masc. n. Aquincola, inhabitant, dweller of water.

Etymology: N.L. adj. (numeral) tertiarius, tertiary (the third of the kind); L. gen. n. carbonis, of carbon; N.L. gen. n. tertiaricarbonis, from tertiary carbon, the characteristic utilized substrate.
