Etymology: L. n. aqua, water; L. neut. n. bacterium, rod; N.L. neut. n. Aquabacterium, a rod-shaped bacterium isolated from water, i.e. isolated from drinking water biofilms.

Etymology: N.L. n. citras -atis, citrate; N.L. adj. philus -a -um (from Gr. adj. philos -ê -on), friend, loving; N.L. neut. adj. citratiphilum, citrate-loving, referring to the preferred utilization of citrate as a carbon and energy source.
