Etymology: Gr. n. actis actinos, a ray, beam; Gr. n. phuton, a plant; L. masc. suff. -cola (from L. n. incola), a dweller, inhabitant; N.L. masc. n. Actinophytocola, actinobacterial dweller inside a plant.
