Type species: ¤ Acidicapsa borealis Kulichevskaya et al. 2012.
Etymology: N.L. n. acidum (from L. adj. acidus, sour), an acid; L. fem. n. capsa, a box, here intended to mean a capsule; N.L. fem. n. Acidicapsa, an acid (-requiring) cell covered by a capsule.
