Cavalier-Smith (2002) assigned this class to the superclass "Neobacteria" Cavalier-Smith 2002.Publication:

The type order of this class has been placed in the class Archaeoglobi Garrity and Holt 2002.Publication:
Garrity GM, Holt JG. Class VI. Archaeoglobi class. nov. In: Boone DR, Castenholz RW, Garrity GM (eds), Bergey's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology, 2nd edn, vol. 1 (The Archaea and the Deeply Branching and Phototrophic Bacteria), Springer, New York, 2001, p. 349-353.
Type order "Archaeoglobales" not validly published. Rejected Name (Judicial Commission, Opinion 79 suppl.; IJSEM 64: 3599–3602).Publication:

The type order "Archaeoglobales" Stetter 1989 does not appear on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names, and was not validly published when Cavalier-Smith proposed the class Archaeoglobea (January 14, 2002). The order Archaeoglobales Huber and Stetter 2002 (previously known as "Archaeoglobales" Stetter 1989) was validly published in the May 2002 issue of the IJSEM (Validation List no. 85). Consequently, Archaeoglobea Cavalier-Smith 2002 is illegitimate. Validation List no. 85 in IJSEM Online.
