Type species: ¤ Yimella lutea Tang et al. 2010.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Yimella, arbitrary name formed from the acronym of Yunnan Institute of Microbiology, YIM, where the first taxonomic studies of this taxon were performed.
