Type species: ¤ Ulvibacter litoralis Nedashkovskaya et al. 2004.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Ulva, generic name of the green alga Ulva fenestra; N.L. masc. n. bacter, rod; N.L. masc. n. Ulvibacter, rod isolated from the green alga Ulva fenestra.
Valid publication: NEDASHKOVSKAYA (O.I.), KIM (S.B.), HAN (S.K.), RHEE (M.S.), LYSENKO (A.M.), FALSEN (E.), FROLOVA (G.M.), MIKHAILOV (V.V.) and BAE (K.S.): Ulvibacter litoralis gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel member of the family Flavobacteriaceae isolated from the green alga Ulva fenestrata. Etymology: L. masc. adj. antarcticus, of the Antarctic environment, referring to the place where the organism was isolated.
