Type species: ¤ Thiolapillus brandeum Nunoura et al. 2015.
Etymology: Gr. n. theion (Latin transliteration thium), sulfur; L. masc. n. lapillus, precious stone; N.L. masc. n. Thiolapillus,sulfur organism resembling a precious stone (etymology corrected on validation).
