Type species: ¤ Tahibacter aquaticus Makk et al. 2014.
Etymology: N.L. n. Tahi, place located on Szentendre Island in Hungary, from where the organisms were isolated; N.L. masc. n. bacter, a rod; N.L. masc. n. Tahibacter, a bacterium from Tahi.
