Solimonadaceae Losey et al. 2013, fam. nov.
Type genus: ¤ Solimonas Kim et al. 2007.
Etymology: N.L. masc. n. Solimonas, type genus for the family; suff. –aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Solimonadaceae, the Solimonas family.
Valid publication: LOSEY (N.A.), STEVENSON (B.S.), VERBARG (S.), RUDD (S.), EMOORE (E.R.B.) and LAWSON (P.A.): Fontimonas thermophila gen. nov., sp. nov., a moderately thermophilic bacterium isolated from a freshwater hot spring, and proposal of Solimonadaceae fam. nov. to replace Sinobacteraceae Zhou et al. 2008. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2013, 63, 254-259.

Note: Sheu et al. 2011 propose to transfer the type species of the type genus of the family Sinobacteraceae in the genus ¤ Solimonas. According to Rule 37a, bacteriologists adhering to this proposal must change the name ¤ Sinobacter to ¤ Solimonas.
With the now defunct name Sinobacter there is now an inconsistency in the nomenclature with the name Sinobacteraceae. Therefore, Losey et al. 2013 propose the name Solimonadaceae fam. nov. to include members of the genera ¤ Solimonas and ¤ Fontimonas.
