Type species: ¤ Saliterribacillus persicus Amoozegar et al. 2013.
Etymology: L. n. sal salis, salt; L. n. terra, soil; L. masc. n. bacillus, a rod; N.L. masc. n. Saliterribacillus, a rod isolated from salt and soil, i.e. isolated from saline soil.
Valid publication: AMOOZEGAR (M.A.), BAGHERI (M.), DIDARI (M.), SHAHZEDEH FAZELI (S.A.), SCHUMANN (P.), SÁNCHEZ-PORRO (C.) and VENTOSA (A.): Saliterribacillus persicus gen. nov., sp. nov., a moderately halophilic bacterium isolated from a hypersaline lake.
