Note: Martínez-Cánovas et al. 2004 proposed the specific epithet mucescens. However, mucescens (L. part. adj. from L. v. mucesco) means becoming mouldy or musty, not slimy as cited in the paper by Martínez-Cánovas et al. 2004. Consequently, this specific epithet has been corrected on notification with the authors' agreement.
