Type species: ¤ Rosenbergiella nectarea Halpern et al. 2013.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Rosenbergiella, named to honour Eugene Rosenberg, an Israeli microbiologist, in recognition of his work and achievements in microbial ecology.

Etymology: L. fem. adj. nectarea, from nectar, referring to the source of the type strain.
