Etymology: Gr. adj.  pseudês, false; N.L. masc. n. acidovorax, a bacterial genus name (Acidovorax); N.L. masc. n. Pseudacidovorax, the false Acidovorax.

Etymology: L. masc. adj. intermedius, intermediate, because of the intermediate phylogenetic position of the species.
