Type species: ¤ Proteiniclasticum ruminis Zhang et al. 2010.
Etymology: N.L. neut. n. proteinum, protein; N.L neut adj. clasticum (from Gr neut adj klaston, broken in pieces) breaking; N.L. neut. n. Proteiniclasticum, a bacterium able to digest proteins.
Valid publication: ZHANG (K.), SONG (L.) and DONG (X.): Proteiniclasticum ruminis gen. nov., sp. nov., a strictly anaerobic proteolytic bacterium isolated from yak rumen. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2010, 60, 2221-2225.
