Type species: ¤ Prauserella rugosa (Lechevalier et al. 1986) Kim and Goodfellow 1999.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Prauserella, named after Helmut Prauser, a German microbiologist who made many contributions to actinomycete systematics.
