Type species: ¤ Perexilibacter aurantiacus Yoon et al. 2007.
Etymology: L. adj. perexilis, very slender; N.L. masc. n. bacter, rod or staff; N.L. masc. n. Perexilibacter, very slender rod, referring to its cell shape.
Valid publication: YOON (J.), ISHIKAWA (S.), KASAI (H.) and YOKOTA (A.): Perexilibacter aurantiacus gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel member of the family 'Flammeovirgaceae' isolated from sediment. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2007, 57, 964-968.
