Type species: ¤ Pelagicola litoralis Kim et al. 2008.
Etymology: L. n. pelagus, the sea; L. suff. -cola (from L. n. incola), inhabitant; N.L. masc. n. Pelagicola, inhabitant of the sea.
Valid publication: KIM (Y.G.), HWANG (C.Y.) and CHO (B.C.): Pelagicola litoralis gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from coastal water in Korea. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2008, 58, 2102-2106.
