Type species: ¤ Paraglycomyces xinjiangensis Luo et al. 2015.
Etymology: Gr. prep. para, resembling; N.L. masc. n. Glycomyces, a bacterial genus; N.L. masc. n. Paraglycomyces, resembling the genus Glycomyces.

Paraglycomyces xinjiangensis Luo et al. 2015, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) TRM 49201=NRRL B-24926=CCTCC AA 2013002=KACC 17683.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA) for the type strain: AB857719.
Etymology: N.L. masc. adj. xinjiangensis, referring to Xinjiang, a region of China, where the type strain was isolated.

Note: Li et al. (2016) propose to unify Salininema proteolyticum and Paraglycomyces xinjiangensis because, according to Rule 42 of the International Code of Nomenclature of Bacteria, the name Salininema proteolyticum has priority; Paraglycomyces xinjiangensis is a later heterotypic synonym.
