Etymology: Gr. fem. n. oryza, rice; N.L. neut. n. microbium, a microbe; N.L. neut. n. Oryzomicrobium, a microbe from rice.

Oryzomicrobium terrae Liu et al. 2017, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) TPP412=BCRC 80905=JCM 30814.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA) for the type strain: KR296798.
Etymology: L. gen. n. terrae, of the earth, reflecting the fact that the type strain was isolated from paddy soil.
