Natroniella Zhilina et al. 1996, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Natroniella acetigena.
Etymology: N.L. n. natron (arbitrarily derived from the Arabic n. natrun or natron) soda, sodium carbonate; L. fem. n. Natroniella, organism growing in soda deposits.

Natroniella acetigena Zhilina et al. 1996, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)

Etymology: N.L. n. acidum aceticum, acetic acid; Gr. v. gennaô, produce, engender; N.L. fem. adj. acetigena, organism which produces acetic acid.
