Motilibacter peucedani Lee 2012, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) RP-AC37 = DSM 45328 = KCTC 19630.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: FM998003.
Etymology: L. n. peucedanum, the plant hog’s-fennel or sulphurwort and also a botanical genus name (Peucedanum); L. gen. n. peucedani of Peucedanum, isolated from Peucedanum japonicum Thunb.

Motilibacter rhizosphaerae Lee 2013, sp. nov.
Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) RS-16=KACC 16209=DSM 45622.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA) for the type strain: FM998018.
Etymology: Gr. neut. n. rhiza, a root; L. fem. n. sphaera, ball, sphere; N.L. gen. fem. n. rhizosphaerae, of the rhizosphere, referring to the site from which the type strain was isolated.
