Mitsuokella Shah and Collins 1983, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Mitsuokella multacida corrig. (Mitsuoka et al. 1974) Shah and Collins 1983.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Mitsuokella, named after T. Mitsuoka, the Japanese bacteriologist who first described the organism.

Etymology: L. n. dens dentis, a tooth; L. fem. suff. -alis, suffix denoting pertaining to; N.L. fem. adj. dentalis, pertaining to teeth.

Mitsuokella jalaludinii Lan et al. 2002, sp. nov.

Etymology: N.L. gen. n. jalaludinii, of Jalaludin, in honor of S. Jalaludin, an animal nutritionist and Vice-Chancelor of University Putra Malaysia, who has contributed significantly to rumen microbiology.
