Methyloferula Vorobev et al. 2011, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Methyloferula stellata Vorobev et al. 2011.
Etymology: N.L. n. methylum, the methyl group (from French methyle, back-formation from French methylène, coined from Gr. n. methu, wine and Gr. n. hulê, wood); N.L. pref. methylo-, pertaining to the methyl radical; L. fem. n. ferula, a rod; N.L. fem. n. Methyloferula, methyl-using rod.
Valid publication: VOROBEV (A.V.), BAANI (M.), DORONINA (N.V.), BRADY (A.L.), LIESACK (W.), DUNFIELD (P.F.) and DEDYSH (S.N.): Methyloferula stellata gen. nov., sp. nov., an acidophilic, obligately methanotrophic bacterium that possesses only a soluble methane monooxygenase.
