Type species: ¤ Mesocricetibacter intestinalis Christensen et al. 2014.
Etymology: N.L. masc. n. Mesocricetus, a genus of hamster; N.L. masc. n. bacter rod; N.L. masc. n. Mesocricetibacter, a rod-shaped bacterium isolated from the hamster genus Mesocricetus.
