Type species: ¤ Marisediminicola antarctica Li et al. 2010.
Etymology: L. n. mare is, the sea; L. n. sedimen -inis, sediment; L. suff. -cola (from L. masc. or fem. n. incola) inhabitant, dweller; N.L. fem. n. Marisediminicola, marine sediment dweller.
