Lutimonas Yang et al. 2007, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Lutimonas vermicola Yang et al. 2007.
Etymology: L. n. lutum, mud; L. fem. n. monas, a unit; N.L. fem. n. Lutimonas, a unit from mud, pertaining to the habitat of the animal that harboured the type species, a marine tidal flat.

Lutimonas halocynthiae Kim et al. 2014, sp. nov.
Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) RSS3-C1=KCTC 32537=CECT 8444.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA) for the type strain: KF740535.
Etymology: N.L. gen. n. halocynthiae, of Halocynthia, named after the generic name of the golden sea squirt Halocynthia aurantium, from which the type strain was isolated.
