Type species: ¤ Litorimicrobium taeanense Jin et al. 2011.
Etymology: L. n. litus -oris, sand beach; N.L. neut. n. microbium, a microbe; N.L. neut. n. Litorimicrobium, microbe living in a sand beach.
Valid publication: JIN (H.M.), LEE (J.H.), KIM (J.M.), PARK (M.S.), LEE (K.) and JEON (C.O.): Litorimicrobium taeanense gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from a sandy beach. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2011, 61, 1392-1396.

Litorimicrobium taeanense Jin et al. 2011, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) G4 = DSM 22007 = KACC 13706.
GQ232737 Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: GQ232737.
Etymology: N.L. neut. adj. taeanense, of or belonging to Taean, from where the organism was isolated.
