Leadbetterella Weon et al. 2005, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Leadbetterella byssophila Weon et al. 2005.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Leadbetterella, in honour of Dr Edward R. Leadbetter, who studied bacteria belonging to the CFB group.
Valid publication: WEON (H.Y.), KIM (B.Y.), KWON (S.W.), PARK (I.C.), CHA (I.B.), TINDALL (B.J.), STACKEBRANDT (E.), TRÜPER (H.G.) and GO (S.J.): Leadbetterella byssophila gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from cotton-waste composts for the cultivation of oyster mushroom. Leadbetterella byssophila Weon et al. 2005, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) 4M15 = DSM 17132 = JCM 16389 = KACC 11308.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: CP002305 (complete genome).
Etymology: Gr. n. bussos, cotton; N.L. adj. philus -a -um (from Gr. adj. philos -ê -on), friend, loving; N.L. fem. adj. byssophila, liking cotton.
