Type species: ¤ Lacihabitans soyangensis Joung et al. 2014.
Etymology: L. masc. n. lacus, a lake; L. part. adj. habitans, inhabiting; N.L. part. adj. used as N.L. masc. n. Lacihabitans, lake dweller, referring to the type of ecosystem from which the type strain of the type species was isolated.

Etymology: N.L. masc. adj. soyangensis, of or pertaining to Lake Soyang, Korea, from where the type strain was isolated.
