Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) IS/F-1, in coculture with Isosphaera pallida; deposited in the culture collection of Thermophilic Microorganisms, Department of Biology, University of Oregon.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: L04675.
Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. oregonensis, pertaining to Oregon, a state in the U.S.A.
