Note: Rainey et al. 1995 propose to transfer ¤ Haloincola saccharolyticus corrig. Zhilina et al. 1992 (the type species of the genus Haloincola) to the genus ¤ Halanaerobium corrig as ¤ Halanaerobium saccharolyticum corrig. (Zhilina et al. 1992) Rainey et al. 1995, comb. nov. According to Rule 37a, bacteriologists adhering to this proposal must change the name Haloincola to ¤ Halanaerobium corrig.
