Type species: ¤ Haloglycomyces albus Guan et al. 2009.
Etymology: Gr. n. hals halos, salt; N.L. masc. n. Glycomyces, a bacterial genus name; N.L. masc. n. Haloglycomyces, a salt-(loving) Glycomyces-like bacterium.
Valid publication: GUAN (T.W.), TANG (S.K.), WU (J.Y.), ZHI (X.Y.), XU (L.H.), ZHANG (L.L.) and LI (W.J.): Haloglycomyces albus gen. nov., sp. nov., a halophilic, filamentous actinomycete of the family Glycomycetaceae. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2009, 59, 1297-1301.

Haloglycomyces albus Guan et al. 2009, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)

Etymology: L. masc. adj. albus, white, referring to the white aerial mycelium.
