Note: The specific epithet acetoethylicus (sic) has been corrected in the new combination Halanaerobium acetethylicum [see, ¤ Halanaerobium acetethylicum corrig. (Rengpipat et al. 1989) Rainey et al. 1995, comb. nov.]. However the name "Halobacteroides acetethylicus" corrig. has never been formally proposed before December 14, 2000 (date of publication of the amended Rule 61; see Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2000, 50, page 2239, column 2). Consequently, in the "List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature", the epithet acetoethylicus (sic) has been maintained for Halobacteroides acetoethylicus.
