Type genus: ¤ Haemophilus Winslow et al. 1917 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. masc. n. Haemophilus, type genus of the tribe; suff. -eae, ending to denote a tribe; N.L. fem. pl. n. Haemophileae, the Haemophilus tribe.
