Guggenheimella Wyss et al. 2005, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Guggenheimella bovis Wyss et al. 2005.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Guggenheimella, named after the Swiss microbiologist Bernhard Guggenheim, for his contributions to health research.
Valid publication: WYSS (C.), DEWHIRST (F.E.), PASTER (B.J.), THURNHEER (T.) and LUGINBÜHL (A.): Guggenheimella bovis gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from lesions of bovine dermatitis digitalis. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2005, 55, 667-671.

Guggenheimella bovis Wyss et al. 2005, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also StrainInfo.net) OMZ 913 = CIP 108087 = DSM 15657.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: AY272039.
Etymology: L. gen. n. bovis, of a cow, referring to the source of isolation.
