Etymology: L. neut. n. garum, fish sauce; L. suff. -cola (from L. n. incola), a dweller, inhabitant; N.L. masc. n. Garicola, a dweller of fish sauce.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. koreensis, pertaining to Korea, where the type strain was isolated.
