Type species: ¤ Fonticella tunisiensis Fraj et al. 2013.
Etymology: L. n. fons fontis, a spring, fountain; L. fem. n. cella, a storeroom, in biology a cell; N.L. fem. n. Fonticella, a cell (bacterium) isolated from a spring.
Valid publication: FRAJ (B.), BEN HANIA (W.), POSTEC (A.), HAMDI (M.), OLLIVIER (B.) and FARDEAU (M.L.): Fonticella tunisiensis gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from a hot spring. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2013, 63, 1947-1950.
