Type species: ¤ Elioraea tepidiphila Albuquerque et al. 2008.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Elioraea, named in honour of Israeli microbiologist Eliora Z. Ron.
Valid publication: ALBUQUERQUE (L.), RAINEY (F.A.), NOBRE (M.F.) and DA COSTA (M.S.): Elioraea tepidiphila gen. nov., sp. nov., a slightly thermophilic member of the Alphaproteobacteria. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2008, 58, 773-778.

Etymology: L. adj. tepidus, warm; N.L. adj. philus -a -um (from Gr. adj. philos -ê -on), friend, loving; N.L. fem. adj. tepidiphila, loving warmth.
