Demequina Yi et al. 2007, gen. nov. (Type genus of the family ¤ Demequinaceae Ue et al. 2011).
Type species: ¤ Demequina aestuarii Yi et al. 2007.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Demequina, arbitrary name derived from demethylmenaquinone, an unusual quinone found in this organism.
