Defluviitalea Jabari et al. 2012, gen. nov. (Type genus of the family ¤ Defluviitaleaceae Jabari et al. 2012).
Type species: ¤ Defluviitalea saccharophila Jabari et al. 2012.
Etymology: L. n. defluvium, sewage, wastewater; L. fem. n. talea, a rod; N.L. fem. n. Defluviitalea, a rod isolated from wastewater.

Defluviitalea saccharophila Jabari et al. 2012, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)

Etymology: Gr. n. sakchar -aros, sugar; N.L. fem. adj. phila (from Gr. fem adj. philê), friendly to, loving; N.L. fem. adj. saccharophila, sugar-loving).
